The Couple Behind the Expedition
RISE with Charlotte & Nico
RISE with Charlotte & Nico is the adventure and backstage platform behind the Amazon Prime documentaries RISE Our World Heritage.
Through bikepacking, documentary filmmaking and field storytelling, we travel to meet people, ecosystems and local solutions that deserve to be seen, understood and shared.
The road is our way to slow down, stay close to the ground, and tell stories from the inside.

A Life on the Road, A Camera in the Field
This project is our way to bring people behind the scenes of a global documentary expedition.
Here, we share what usually stays outside the final film: the preparation, the logistics, the gear, the fatigue, the landscapes, the choices, the mistakes, and the human moments that shape every story.
RISE with Charlotte & Nico connects adventure, filmmaking, impact and influence. It is both a field journal and a long-term storytelling platform.

Nicolas Plain
Nicolas is a filmmaker, engineer, climate scientist, adventurer and founder of RISE Our World Heritage.
After studying engineering, climate, economics and data science, he created the RISE foundation to tell stories that connect local solutions, science, nature and decision-makers. Through documentaries, talks, field expeditions and storytelling, he works to make environmental and social solutions more visible and more influential.
On the road, Nicolas is usually behind material planning, interviews, scientific framing, partnerships, cycling logistics and too many ambitious ideas.

Charlotte Martin
Charlotte is an adventure filmmaker, photographer and expedition partner.
Before joining the road full-time, she worked as a nurse, with years of experience in care, people and real-life human situations. Today, she brings that sensitivity into visual storytelling, photography, filming and the daily life of the expedition.
On the road, Charlotte is behind many of the images, the atmosphere, the field production, the social content and the human connection that makes the story feel alive.

Stories Can Change the Way We See the World
We believe that solutions to live a better tomorrow already exist in many places, often carried by communities, territories and people who are rarely at the center of the global conversation.
Our role is to go there, listen, film, learn, and share these stories with the widest possible audience.
Not from above.
Not from far away.
But from the road, from the field, and from the people who live these realities every day.
Follow the Journey
The expedition continues on the road, through the films, the stories, the gear, the people we meet and the landscapes we cross.
